Water of Life - Day Three Closing Devotion

Call to Worship – “Praise You in this Storm” by Casting Crowns

Opening Prayer

Scripture – Mark 4: 35-41

Discussion
Why did the disciples have such little faith?
Do you feel like Christ is with you when you travel?
Do you have special prayers or rituals that you do to invoke His safety while traveling?
What is the symbolism of water in this story?

I have enjoyed joining you on your journey into the meaning of water.

As humans we can live without food far longer than we can live without water. We are physically mostly water and live on a beautiful blue water planet.

Water brings healing and life. It can bring a gentle cleansing for a bruised knee or a weary soul but as in the story of Noah it can also come as a wall of water stripping all life from it's path.

I think Jesus knew how "connected" we are to water and used something so common and yet so important to teach about God's gifts.

Something so simple and yet so profound.

Just like the message of Jesus so simple and yet so profound. Just think about the Sermon on the Mound and try living the life of the Beatitudes...so simple and yet so difficult!
